Sealants

Fissure sealants are great for both adults and children as they prevent cavities from forming in early years. Once applied, fissure sealants last a number of years. Because premolars and molar teeth have grooves on the surface, which are prone to damage, fissure sealants will effectively protect the teeth. Fissure sealants take a proactive measure in preventing plaque and bacteria, which helps prevent cavities from forming.

Dental sealants are a clear layer of thin material that are applied to the molars to protect the teeth. After teeth have been cleaned and the sealant applied, it will be cured with a special light. Sealants are recommended because of their cavity-prevention benefits.

Having Fissure Sealants along with practising high quality dental hygiene and regular dental visit, can provide your molar teeth with excellent protection and dental caries prevention.

Root Canal Therapy

A severe toothache can be caused by an inflammation and infection. “Pulpitis” of the pulp chamber of the tooth can cause the tooth nerve to die, which result in severe constant pain and require treatment of the tooth root to subside.

Root canal therapy are essentially painless procedure and have a high success rate. It helps to preserve the tooth instead of extractions and implant therapy.

Following dental anaesthesia / numbing of your teeth, a small opening on the tooth's surface is to be created to gain access to root area. The diseased or damaged pulp of a tooth will be debrided, cleaned, disinfected followed by filling and sealing the root canal area to avoid bacterial infections.

Periodontal or Gum Health Therapy

Periodontal treatments are used for various teeth, jawbone, and gum ailments. The state of your oral health largely depends on your hygiene routine.

Unhealthy gums can recede, become swollen, or increase in redness. In more advanced stages, the gums collagen fibres and surrounding bone structure can be completely destroyed. The tooth can become mobile and movement will occur, causing problems such as bad breath and teeth to shift, your smile will be spoiled, gaps between your teeth may be formed, you may experience increased difficulties to chew or speak, causing disruption to your life style.

Periodontal diseases are persistent, ongoing infections that erode the support of your natural teeth. Most periodontal issues arise and preceded from plaque and gingivitis. Plaque is a film composed of bacteria, food particles, and other types of waste. It remains attached to your teeth at or below the gum line which produce bacteria that irritates the teeth and gums. If it isn’t removed, pockets of space will form and provide a host for periodontal disease.

Periodontits ("gum disease") causes the supporting tissue around the teeth to deteriorate. Continuous weakening of the bone can finally result in a loss of teeth. Periodontal disease is known to be a risk related to heart condition. In addition, it is asymptomatic and does not produce any noticeable pain. It is important to maintain healthy dental hygiene practices and regular dental examination to prevent or reduce the risk of periodontal disease.
